Following a career in Fashion Retail Management and raising her family, Kate retrained in 2000 in Horticulture at Brackenhurst.
There she discovered the joy of working with willow and incorporated a Living Willow Structure in her design module. This design was installed and planted at a local school with the children involved. Quickly other schools followed suit and commissioned her for their school gardens and willow projects.
Kate ran “Environmental Arts” projects and gardening clubs in many schools across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, entering and winning RHS Greenfinger Challenge Award both at County and National level. She has also planted willow tunnels, domes, arbors as commissions in private gardens and Eco Housing Developments.
Kate now returns to her Willow Workshops after a decade of running a day cafe and outside catering business with her family.
